I just was planning to connect to a serial device to the conduit, however was not sure if I can connect the serial device to the USB Device connector on the back panel of the conduit? If I can is it possible to perform serial communication via node-red and communicate via the USB device connector on the conduit back panel?

    Thanks,
    Ajay

You can connect a USB serial port to the “USB Host” connector and it should be recognized by the kernel and the appropriate /dev entry should appear. You must then manually configure a “Serial” node for the serial port.

Thanks Peter for taking the time to respond and for your inputs. However
    when you say

You must then manually configure a “Serial” node for the serial port.

Are you talking about doing that in node-red or is this a linux related configuration step? I am little new to the configuration requirements around Linux OS.

    Thanks,
    Ajay.
