    Good evening,

I have an mdot which is barely in range of a gateway. When the link check shows that the mdot is no longer connected, it initiates a rejoin.

I noticed in on rejoin session the time periods between rejoins were the following:
    after rejoin attempt 1: 1s
    after rejoin attempt 2: 1s
    after rejoin attempt 3: 1s
    after rejoin attempt 4: 6s
    after rejoin attempt 5: 1s
    after rejoin attempt 6: 1s
    after rejoin attempt 7: 1s
After rejoin attempt 8: waiting time is 3593s

Is this value of 3593 a bug or by design? I reset the mdot when I saw how long it was waiting, it rejoined the network on its next attempt.

    Regards,
    Jaco

LoRaWAN defines join back-off with tx duty-cycle of 1% of 1 hour, 0.1% for 1-11 hours and 0.01% beyond 11 hours.

After the 36 seconds of time on air is used it will wait for the rest of the time period until trying again. This is in case large number of devices are power cycled and trying to join simultaneously.
