We’re starting to test our rCell 100 modems (we have four) for mass notifications. I’ve written code to pause and retry sending an SMS when the modem replies with an HTTP 408 result code (indicating that it’s busy) but ideally I would like to know how many SMS requests the modem will buffer. We’re trying to estimate how many SMS messages each modem can send per minute.

Short of doing an actual sustained throughput test to hundreds or thousands of different target numbers, it would be really handy to know if the modems will, for example, hold a queue of 100 requests and then send them out.

I haven’t been able to find any information like this in the documentation. Does anyone on the development team know the specifics of the internal architecture enough to provide it?

    Thanks,
    …Steve
