The antenna wire was connected in the wrong place. The modem has registered.

    Thanks for the response.
AT+CREG? gives 0, 0 which is not registered.
    AT+CPIN? says ready.
Is the modem ready to use out of the box after apn is configure or should an external antenna be attached? The modem comes with a wire connecting at the antenna connector. In this state, I get 99,99 for CSQ. I tried removing the wire and connecting an external antenna at the jack next to the SIM card. I get 11, 99 for CSQ but CREG still gives 0, 0.

    Thanks

Thanks a lot for your response. I’ll try 2g after setting the ws46 to 12. I heard at&t is taking their 2g service anyways.

The datasheet for MTSMC-H5 says it supports 2g and 3g. I put an old 2G sim card in the modem and data cannot connect at all. If the h5 modem does support 2G then could this be caused by 2g configuration not turned on?

    Thanks
