Is it possible somehow to turn a 868 MHz xDot into a 915 MHz somehow? Or have these models different hardware?

We’ll produce a lot of xDot end nodes, and it would logistically much easier if we could use a single xDot for different regions. Or at least configure a xDot for a certain region by flashing a different firmware in it. I know some (non-Multitech) MCU enabled LoRaWAN modules support both 868/915 in the same package.

The difference is regulatory – for the module to remain on Multitech’s FCC and CE certifications the product must leave our factory for one or the other regulatory environments.

If you are manufacturing a separately certified product then something may be able to be arranged. Contact your sales contact at Multitech or your distributor to get that conversation started.
