What is the official firmware version for the iSMS SF800 server? The website shows 1.50.x released in 2012 but a recent post references version 1.51.14 dated 4/2/2013. Is this a testes and supported version?
Hi Steven,
Yes, 1.51.14 is a test/beta version of the iSMS firmware. However, 1.51.14 has been through quite a bit of testing but it hasn’t been through the official release testing which would then send the firmware to the production line. It takes a fair amount of time to go through full release testing, so we prefer to get more features/fixes into the final release and as a result we put out more test/beta versions in between.
So what is the expected release? Are you still working on new features? What are those? I found this version specifically for a request to send text messages over 160 characters. This release seems to have fixed the firmware to support this from the admin console, but the API still does not. Will there be a new version of the API that supports sending extended length text messages (multipart) via the HTTP or TCP API?
Hi Steven,
We currently don’t have a release date planned for v1.51.x. We will be adding release notes soon to the v1.51.14 ftp folder to show the changes.
The 1.50.7 and 1.51.14 do support multi-part messages. When sending a request for a long message, just include the entire message string for the text, the iSMS will automatically split up the message and send them.

Bryon
