Good Day –
Is there a reason why the minimum check-in interval for gateways is 240 minutes?
This is regarding: DeviceHQ->Devices-><select_device>->Schedule->Upgrade Config (partial)->Admin – Remote Management->Auto-Update Settings->Check-In Interval
We would prefer to see a much shorter check-in interval, like 30 minutes, especially for testing and new deployments where modified Node-RED software might need to be installed quickly. Obviously, this applies when there is no gateway access other than DeviceHQ.
For example, we recently added new features for a client and inadvertently injected a defect into an existing feature. It was a quick fix. But that was a very long, stressful four hours waiting for the next check-in.
Your assistance on this will be appreciated.
Thanks!
William,
It is possible to change the interval by hand in the /var/config/db.json. However, when the device checks in to Device HQ, the Device HQ server will revert it back to a minimum of 4hrs unless things are changed there. We will look into enhancing this feature in the near future.
Jeff
Okay, Jeff, thanks. We would definitely appreciate that enhancement.
DeviceHQ is our only access to the client’s IP67 gateways.
Thanks again,
William
