    The procedure described here doesn’t work as of AEP 5.1.2 (mLinux 5.1.6)
    After a reboot, the content of /etc/hostname is reset to mtcdt.

    What’s the new procedure to change the hostname?

    Martin,

    I have tried to reproduce this unsuccessfully. Did you make sure to hit the “Submit” button on the Global DNS page before saving and restarting?

    Jeff,
    No, I changes the hostname by editing the /etc/hostname file as described here: http://www.multitech.net/developer/software/mlinux/using-mlinux/naming-the-device/
    It’s easier for us to do it in a terminal session, is there a way to do it?

    Hello Martin,

    The instructions that you followed are for an mLinux model. This thread is on the Conduit AEP forum so I assumed you were running the mPower version of the Conduit and not just mLinux. If you are running the mPower version of Conduit you will need to go into the Web UI and on the Global DNS page you can change the hostname there.

    The mPower software will overwrite the hostname in the /etc/hostname file, so editing the file by hand won’t do much good.

    Hello Jeff,
    Sorry about that… AEP being built on top of mLinux I expected it to work, and it has been working until recently. Is there a quick and dirty way of setting the hostname by editing a file on the AEP platform?
