Hi,
I have been experimenting with the MultiConnect Conduit IoT Starter Kit for LoRa Technology for a few weeks now. The conduit model that comes with this kit is intended to be used indoor, but I wonder if it would be OK to use an antenna extension cable to an outdoor antenna for better range. If so, what would be the recommended equipment (i.e. cable and antenna) for such as setup? (Note: I am located in Canada, so I am using the 915 MHz ISM band.)
Thank you for your time and support. A+
Frank
Hello Frank
Yes, it is possible to cable to an external antenna outdoors. I would recommend that you use low loss coax cable 240 Series cabled to an outdoor rated omnidirectional antenna, for example model Laird FG9023. I feel the antenna cable would be “RP SMA male to N-male”.
-Best Regards
Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for the quick reply!
I will definitely have a look at what you are recommending.
Thank you for the information. A+ 🙂
