The device sends the data to the gateway based on a selected interval and displays it on screen in real time.<\/p>\n<p>Survey GPS Mode allows the user to change the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>data rate<\/li>\n<li>power<\/li>\n<li>packet padding<\/li>\n<li>send interval (5-60 seconds) in real time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The device gathers and updates the following data on screen in real time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Temperature<\/li>\n<li>GPS latitude<\/li>\n<li>GPS longitude<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The data is also sent to the gateway periodically, depending on the interval selected.<\/p>\n<p>The data packet format is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Byte 0 is 0<\/li>\n<li>Byte 1 is temperature in Celsius<\/li>\n<li>Byte 2 is 0<\/li>\n<li>Byte 3-6 is GPS Latitude<\/li>\n<li>Byte 7-10 is GPS Longitude<\/li>\n<li>Bytes 10+ is padding with 0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 12px;\">\u00a0Packet Coding<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The GPS data in the packet is encoded. Below is an example of how to encode and decode this GPS data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: super; padding-left: 30px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.multitech.net\/developer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/packet_coding.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: super;\"><strong>Using GPS Survey Mode<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If your frequency band is 915, select a frequency sub-band before joining the network.\u00a0If the frequency band is 868 (skip step #2), the device does not ask you to select a frequency sub-band. It joins automatically and proceeds into Survey GPS Mode.\u00a0If the join fails, the device returns\u00a0to the main menu.<\/li>\n<li>Once you chose the sub-band, \u00a0join the network.\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If successful, Survey GPS starts.<\/li>\n<li>If the join fails, the device goes back one screen to edit the frequency sub-band.<\/li>\n<li>If you hold SW1 any time, the device returns to the main menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When Survey GPS Mode begins, the user can press SW2 to cycle through the parameters:\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>power<\/li>\n<li>data rate<\/li>\n<li>interval<\/li>\n<li>packet padding<\/li>\n<li>frequency sub-band (if the frequency band is 915)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The user than can use SW1 to change the value associated with the parameter.\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Example: The parameter is power. SW1 changes the power value from 2 to 20 in increments of 3. When editing the frequency sub-band the device disconnects and\u00a0reconnects to the network. Once the network has been joined, the following information will be displayed on the\u00a0screen:\n<ul>\n<li>\u000f the frequency sub band (915 only)<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the TX data rate, and power<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the downstream RSSI and SNR, if available<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the GPS longitude, if available<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the GPS latitude, if available<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the GPS time and date, if available<\/li>\n<li>\u000f the temperature in Celsius<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Survey GPS Mode outputs GPS (if available) and temperature data gathered by the device.
