Sweeps are assigned a sweep index so they can be referenced later.<\/p>\n<p>The survey results\u00a0of all surveys in a sweep, whether they\u00a0passed or failed,\u00a0are saved to a data file on the device but only successful surveys are transmitted to the gateway.\u00a0See\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.multitech.net\/developer\/software\/dot-box-software\/survey-data-file\/\">Survey Data File<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for data format.<\/p>\n<p>The user can configure the minimum and maximum data rates and power levels to use for sweeps using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.multitech.net\/developer\/software\/dot-box-and-evb-software\/configuration-mode\/\"><strong>Configuration<\/strong> <strong>Mode<\/strong><\/a>. If there are four or fewer\u00a0power levels in the range, every power level in the range is used.<\/p>\n<p>To execute a <strong>Survey Sweep<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>From the <strong>main menu<\/strong>, press <strong>SW1<\/strong> (<strong>Select<\/strong>) when -&gt; is on <strong>Survey Sweep<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If a Survey Data File exists,\u00a0choose either <strong>SW2<\/strong> (<strong>Erase)<\/strong> or <strong>SW1<\/strong> (<strong>Append<\/strong>) to the current file.<\/li>\n<li>Then press <strong>SW2(Sweep<\/strong>) to initiate the sweep. Between surveys in the sweep, the user can press <strong>SW1(Cancel<\/strong>) to stop the remainder of the sweep.\u00a0 For each successful survey in the sweep, the following information\u00a0is shown on the screen:\n<ul>\n<li>the sweep index<\/li>\n<li>the TX data rate and power<\/li>\n<li>the upstream margin above the demodulation or the downstream RSSI and SNR<\/li>\n<li>the GPS longitude, if available<\/li>\n<li>the GPS latitude, if available<\/li>\n<li>the GPS time and date (UTC format), if available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the survey was successful and data packet transmission to the gateway has been enabled with the <strong>+DATA<\/strong> configuration command, the device displays following data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>the TX power<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the number of gateways which received the link check request<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the upstream margin above the demodulation or\u000f the downstream RSSI and SNR<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the data rate allows for a large enough payload, GPS information is sent to the gateway:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>the GPS lock status<\/li>\n<li>the GPS longitude<\/li>\n<li>the GPS latitude<\/li>\n<li>the\u00a0GPS altitude<\/li>\n<li>the GPS timestamp (UTC format)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> With the 915 MHz frequency band, data rate 10 only allows for an 11 byte payload, which is too small to include GPS data. All other data rates allow for a large enough payload to include GPS data.<br \/>\nIf a survey is unsuccessful, the following information is displayed on the screen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>the sweep index<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the TX data rate and power<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the GPS longitude, if available<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the GPS latitude, if available<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the GPS time and date (UTC format), if available<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>the GPS timestamp (UTC format)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When the entire sweep is finished or has been cancelled, the following information is displayed on the screen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the sweep index<\/li>\n<li>the number of successful surveys in the sweep<\/li>\n<li>the number of unsuccessful surveys in the sweep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Survey Sweep Mode, connectivity with the gateway is tested over a range of power levels and data rates.
