Each survey whether it\u00a0passed or failed\u00a0saves survey results to a data file on the device but only successful surveys are transmitted to the gateway. See\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.multitech.net\/developer\/software\/dot-box-software\/survey-data-file\/\">Survey Data File<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for data format.<\/p>\n<ol id=\"ol_vjc_2d4_f5\">\n<li>The device joins the network. The <b>LED1 <\/b>\u00a0flashes and the device<br \/>\ndisplays Joining message. Once complete, the <b>LED1<\/b> turns green and<br \/>\nthe Join Success message appears. If Join fails, check: the network ID,<br \/>\nthe network key, frequency sub band to make sure they match the gateway.<br \/>\nSee <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.multitech.net\/developer\/software\/dot-box-software\/configuration-mode\/\">Configuration Mode<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for details.<\/li>\n<li>If the data file exists, choose either press <b>SW2<\/b> to\u00a0<b>Erase<\/b> or<br \/>\n<b>SW1<\/b> to <b>Append<\/b> the current file.<\/li>\n<li>Press <b>SW2<\/b> to select the first survey or <b>SW1<\/b> to cycle through the<br \/>\ndata rate\/power combinations to desired selection.<\/li>\n<li>Then press <b>SW2<\/b> to start selected survey.\n<ul id=\"ul_dmc_2d4_f5\">\n<li><b>LED1 <\/b>flashes and one of the following results<br \/>\nappears:<\/p>\n<ul id=\"ul_vjn_g5y_35\">\n<li>If a survey is successful, the device displays:\n<ul id=\"ul_fjg_h5y_35\">\n<li><b>Survey index:<\/b> survey ID.<\/li>\n<li><b>TX data rate and power<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Up margin:<\/b> upstream signal margin (dBm) above<br \/>\nthe demodulation floor (level at which signal can no<br \/>\nlonger be distinguished from noise).<\/li>\n<li><b>Down RSSI and SNR:<\/b> downstream signal strength<br \/>\nin dBm and signal-to-noise ratio.<\/li>\n<li><b>GPS longitude<\/b>(if available)<\/li>\n<li><b>GPS latitude<\/b>(if available)<\/li>\n<li><b>GPS time and date<\/b>(UTC format &#8212; if available)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the survey was successful and data packet transmission is<br \/>\nenabled, the device sends the following data:<\/p>\n<ul id=\"ul_mg2_55y_35\">\n<li><b>TX power<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Number of gateways which received the link check<br \/>\nrequest<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Up margin: <\/b>the upstream margin above the<br \/>\ndemodulation floor<\/li>\n<li><b>Downstream RSSI and SNR<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: If the data rate allows for enough payload, GPS<br \/>\ninformation will also be sent to the gateway.<\/li>\n<li>If a survey is unsuccessful, the device displays:\n<ul id=\"ul_yxb_gvy_35\">\n<li><b>Survey index<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>TX data rate and power<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Error message<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>GPS longitude<\/b>(if available)<\/li>\n<li><b>GPS latitude<\/b>(if available)<\/li>\n<li><b>GPS time and date <\/b>(UTC format &#8212; if available)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Test connectivity with the gateway at different data rate and power combinations.
