    We have 4 IPX gateways. We have two of the older model with the gateway and PoE converter inside and two of the newer models with external LEDs and the more integrated guts.

    We have two types of PoE adapters –
    Phihong and Microsemi single-port PoE injectors at .53A/56V and several IPX rated Microsemi 9601GO 1.7A/56V.

    3 of the IPX gateways(2 new, one old) work equally-well with both PoE adapters. One of them, however only works with the indoor rated PoE adapter. I removed the outer case to see the power and activity leds. With the 9601GO, no power light occurs on the power converter inside the IPX gateway.

    The single-port adapter has pins 3,6 as + and 1,2 as return.
    The 9601GO has DC voltage on pairs 1-2 & 3-6, 4-5 & 7-8.

    We are trying to mount the problem gateway in an outdoor environment where it is not possible to use the inside-rated PoE adapter.

    Is there any way to test/diagnose this problem? Any help would be appreciated. If we are using incorrect hardware and there is a better choice that would be very helpful as we are trying to do further deployments.
