CoreCDP 2.0.2 Released

CoreCDP version 2.0.2 has been released!

This is a new major release of CoreCDP with an updated toolchain, a newer Linux kernel, and newer versions of most software. The new release also makes use of the new BBLAYERS feature in OpenEmbedded.

Key changes:

Based on OpenEmbedded 2011.03 branch
Bitbake 1.12
GCC 4.5.3 and EGLIBC 2.12
Linux kernel 2.6.35.14
OpenJDK 6 added
Supports new embedded MT100EOCG hardware

The flashing from Linux procedure has changed slightly, please read the Release Notes and see the NAND Flash Programming page for details.

As a result of moving to the 2011.03 branch of OpenEmbedded, some file paths in the build sub-directory have changed. See CoreCDP File Paths for a quick summary.

Multi-Tech rebrands Cellular Development Platform, adds embedded hardware version

Two major announcements today!

Multi-Tech has announced new branding for the Cellular Development Platform:
MultiConnect™ Open Communications Gateways (OCG)

The existing Cellular Development Platform products are now known as
MultiConnect™ Open Communications Gateway – Device or MultiConnect™ OCG-D

MultiConnect™ Open Communications Gateway – Embedded

Along with the new product family name, Multi-Tech introduces MultiConnect™ OCG-E, an embedded version of the Open Communications Gateway for those wanting to embed the hardware into their own design. This allows the developer to leverage the existing OCG technology and CoreCDP software but gives them full control over the end design of their product, such as a custom footprint and chassis and the ability to use only the interfaces (ethernet, serial, I2C, etc) that are needed.

CDP Developers update – debug cable issue

We have discovered that the serial 3-pin debug cable included with the CDP was manufactured incorrectly for units made prior to 7/4/2011.

We will be glad to ship you a new cable upon request.
You can make the request through our support portal.

Please include the serial number of the unit and your name and address to where you would like it shipped.

If you want to do the modification to the cable yourself, see the cable diagram for proper connections.

The Git repository associated with our developer site has always existed, but never formally linked to the menu bar. Having it readily available will make it easier to use without having to jot it down.

The repository is used to host projects (such as CoreCDP) and example applications for your use.
